Un rol important în determinarea nivelului de ajutor acordat fiecărei ţări îl are camera inferiară a Parlamentului american, Camera Reprezentanţiilor. Fiecare membru al comunitaţii noastre poate avea un impact asupra deciziilor luate în Cameră şi poate sprijini România prin intermediul unei scrisori adresate Reprezentatului dumneavoastră prin care să îi cereţi o creştere a nivelului de ajutor extern acordat României. Please support increased U.S. foreign assistance for the country of Romania. That country’s people and government are great supporters of the US and our policies. Foreign assistance has been reduced every year even more than the Administration feels is appropriate. Romania has incurred costs connected with Afghanistan and Iraq that it could not afford but did so without regard for remuneration. It continues to support the U.S. in any way it can.
As Romanian Americans we know how deep the hole Communism placed Romania in Romania started progressing only after 1989 and it has been a difficult road for her. Regardless of the sacrifices she still stands at our side, unlike some others. She is making greater progress and our government recognizes this. We need to also understand and recognize that country’s situation and loyalty to us by helping her with more appropriate, higher, levels of assistance.
